Police Identify Teen Killed In Vehicle Collision In South Dundas

Update: The OPP says 17-year old Joshua Seguin, from North Glengarry, was the driver of the passenger vehicle who was pronounced dead at the scene. The Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry OPP is continuing to investigate with assistance from OPP Traffic Collision Investigators.

The OPP says Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Officers are currently on scene of a two vehicle collision in South Dundas.

Police say the collision happened between Upper Canada Road and County Road 31. A preliminary investigation has indicated that a little after 9:30 this morning, a tractor trailer was travelling westbound on Highway 401 when a passenger vehicle entered the highway travelling eastbound in the westbound lanes and collided with the westbound tractor trailer.

The male driver of the passenger vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene and was the lone occupant of the vehicle. Police add, names are being withheld until they notify next-of-kin. The driver of the tractor trailer is uninjured.

The OPP is processing the scene and continues to investigate with the help from OPP Traffic Collision Investigators. A section of westbound lanes on Highway 401 between Upper Canada Road and County Road 31 is closed to traffic with indicated detours in place.
