The Walker House in Prescott is inviting the public to come and share a senior moment.
Walker House Recreation Centre is holding a Seniors’ Expo on October 27th at South Grenville District High School. The event will run from 11 to three in the afternoon and is free to attend. Susan Vallom is the Program Director for Walker House and says the event will have information for seniors about active living and services for them. There is three components for the expo: trade show, entertainment and demonstrations.
“We have health related (demos). You’ll be able to have blood pressure checked, sugars checked, reflexology. These are little things that are going to be going on at the tables in the fair.”
Vallom says there is a ribbon cutting event at 11:30 and there will be seminars as well. She says one of the seminars will be by Doctor Holmes, from the Prescott Optometric Centre, who will be talking about age related macular degeneration. There will also be free healthy snacks available and vendors will be there.
People or organizations who would like to sign up for a display table can contact Walker House at 613-925-5300 for more information. The deadline to register a table is October 13th.
