Health Unit manages to avoid layoffs with new “gapping” policy

The Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit will see staffing adjustments and changes to operations, but they have managed to avoid job losses. The local health unit has to make the changes to provide over half a million in combined savings, putting them in line with tighter provincial funding levels.

Staff will face a “gapping” policy, where workers on leave or retiring are not replaced. This will help to assure there are no layoffs.
