If you live in Spencerville, you may hear and see many first responders tomorrow.
The Regional Paramedic Program for Eastern Ontario will be holding an EMS bootcamp in Spencerville. The event is for emergency room residents to experience emergency patient care outside of a hospital. Fire Chief Brian Moore says the bootcamp will include Edwardsburgh/Cardinal Fire Department, the OPP and multiple paramedic services including; Frontenac, Lanark, Prescott Russell, Leeds and Grenville, Renfrew, Hastings Quinte, Cornwall, Lennox and Addington and Ottawa. Students from Algonquin College will be participating in the event.
It will be taking place at Fire Station 1 and the fairgrounds in Spencerville. The fire department will set up vehicles for an accident scenario and perform an auto extrication demo.
Multiple ambulances, OPP and fire vehicles will be in the area with lights and sirens on throughout the day.
