Gas Prices Anticipated To Stay Lower For Now

Gas prices are expected to continue to stay around where they are until another long weekend.

Dan McTeague is a Gasbuddy Analyst and says with the trend of gas prices going down, we’re starting to see prices we haven’t seen since mid-march. McTeague says Doug Ford promised to lower prices at the pump.

“I understand the campaign promise was 10 cents for diesel, 10 cents for gasoline. He’s two-thirds of the way on diesel and almost halfway on gasoline.”

McTeague adds the price moving up or down within two cents seems to be the way we’re heading into the Thanksgiving long weekend. He notes he doesn’t anticipate anything to cause the prices rise too dramatically. He also says the cancellation of cap and trade will be momentary because Ottawa is planning on re-imposing a carbon tax program on January first.

Regular gasoline in Prescott is 119.3 cents at all four gas stations currently.
