Country In The Park Returns

Country music lovers can flock to Centennial Park in Athens to enjoy some live music.

The second annual Country In The Park will be taking place on Saturday, August 25th. This year they’ve added three more acts to the lineup for a total of seven performers that day. The singers inlcude: Jordy Jackson, Danny Sylvestre, Craig Curtis, Brea Lawrenson, Julie Serre de St Jean, Angie Halladay and Ron and Joy Edgeley. The gates will open at 10 am with Angie Halladay kicking things off at 11.

Brea Lawrenson will be on stage at noon, Ron and Joy Edgeley will be at 1:15, Craig Curtis begins at 2:15, Julie Serre de St Jean will hit the stage at 4:30, Jordy Jackson is scheduled for 5:45 and Danny Sylvestre closes the show beginning at 7:30.

Crystal Sled is the Fundraising Developer and says they’ve stretched the day longer than last year’s four pm end time, so it will now run until nine pm.

The event is supporting Community and Primary Healthcare (CPHC) and Sled notes last year’s event raised almost $5,ooo for the agency. CPHC delivers programs for seniors in the Lanark, Leeds and Grenville area.

Sled adds the Athens Lions Club and the Kinsmen Club of Brockville will be running a bar and barbecue that will be supporting CPHC as well.

For adults, it’s $20 to get in and children 13 and under are free. Tickets can be purchased by calling CPHC Brockville at 613-342-3693 extenstion 2072, at Blanchard’s Garage in Athens, Willards Bakery in Athens or online at Snap’d 1000 Islands.

Centennial Park is located on 35 Henry Street, near Centre 76.
