Prescott Gunners Women’s Soccer Team Compete For Championship Win On Home Field

Cheer on the Prescott Gunners Women’s Competitive 3 (WC3) as they compete in the Ottawa Carleton Soccer League Championship.

The ladies are playing this Thursday at 6:30 pm. The match will take place at the Tom Carr Field and everyone is welcome to come and support the squad. They will be taking on the Russell Raiders Women’s Competitive 3. Prescott’s team is made up of ladies between the ages of 18 and 30 from all over the area including Johnstown, Brockville, Maitland and Upper New York State.

Andrew Lee is the Coach and Manager of the Prescott Gunners WC3 team. He says the team has been moving up from the WC5 level over the course of three or four years now and this game will determine which team will be first and second in the WC3 division this season.

Lee adds it was always a goal to land in the WC2 divison and next year they know they will be advancing to that division in the league.

The Prescott team is currently undefeated this season through 13 games (10 in the regular season and three in the playoffs) and have beat the Russell Raiders twice in the regular season and once in the playoffs so far. The Raiders have won seven games, tied one game and lost twice in the regular season. They’ve won two games and lost one game in the playoffs so far.
