Kitley man charged with impaired driving causing bodily harm

A man from Kitley Township is charged with impaired driving causing bodily harm after crashing his truck into a car. It happened around 7:30pm on Monday. The Chevy Silverado was coming off County Road 16 into the intersection at Rosebridge Road in Wolford Township. It crossed into the other lane, hitting a Ford Fusion that had just entered the intersection.

The driver of the car, a 32-year-old Ottawa man, was trapped in his vehicle. Merrickville-Wolford firefighters managed to extricate him. He was taken to hospital by ambulance and later airlifted to another location with serious leg injuries. The truck driver registered a fail on the roadside test and was taken to hospital with minor injuries. The 47-year-old Kitley man will be in Kemptville court in February.
