Ingredion and Greenfield Global Support Edwardsburgh/Cardinal Youth For Eighth Year In A Row

Both Ingredion and Greenfield Global presented cheques to Edwardsburgh/Cardinal Township for $5,000.

The cheques were presented on Thursday, July 26th. This marks the eighth year in a row the companies have given $5,000 each. The money goes towards making sure children are able to receive free swimming lessons in the town. This year, the Johnstown and Cardinal pools had 125 free lessons each and all the spaces have been used. The companies and the Town say they believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn how to swim.

Edwardsburgh/Cardinal has been able to offer a swimming lesson sponsorship program so financial issues do not prevent kids from learning basic swimming skills.

A total of $80,000 has now been used towards the program as both companies have now given $40,000 each over the eight years. Over the eight years, around 2,000 free lessons have been given to Parent & Tot, Preschool, Swimmer, and Patrol Lifesaving Society swimming lesson levels in Johnstown and Cardinal.
