Two women panhandling in Prescott

The Grenville County OPP are warning people about panhandlers. Officers responded to calls about two women asking for money in Prescott. The incidents occurred on July 15 and today. The women were holding a cardboard sign asking for money to feed their kids.

Both incidents were in the area of Canadian Tire and O’Reilly’s Grocery Store, on Commerce Drive.

The females have been reported soliciting for money in the Tilsonburg, Trenton and Gananoque areas. They are being transported to numerous locations along the 401 to panhandle.

The Town of Prescott has a bylaw that prohibits solicitation for money or products. The OPP are reminding the public that these types of organized solicitations are frauds and your cash is not going where you think it is.

The OPP asks people to report similar incidents by contacting the Prescott detachment by calling 613-925-4221.
