Two former schools to be put up for public sale

The former Kemptville Public School and North Grenville District High School will be sold publicly. The two schools were deemed surplus by the Upper Canada District School Board. Publicly funded bodies had 90 days to snatch up the properties, but there were no bites. Director of Education Stephen Sliwa says many different government organizations could’ve bought the two schools.

There were initial expressions of interest, but nothing materialized into a purchase of sale. Sliwa says the Minister of Education has to okay selling the buildings.

The timeline for selling the properties is unknown. Sliwa says it could take weeks or months.
