Prescott Golf Tournament Raising Money for Program at BGH

The 5th annual Golfing for Maternal Care Golf Tournament is set for August 18th at the Prescott Golf Course.

The event raises money for the Women’s and Children’s Program at the Brockville General Hospital.

Over the past four years the tournament has raised over $60,000 for the program. Each year the amount raised has increased from $13,000 in the first year to over $20,000 last year. Tom and Carole Hare are the founders of the tournament and say the money goes towards what the nurses need in the program.

Tom says the baby bassinets they are looking to get are rather sophisticated and cost around $3,500 and the sleeper chairs cost about the same. He also says they don’t have a specific goal but they’d like to see the increase, in amount raised, continue.

The tournament will include prizes, lunch, dinner, live and silent auctions. One of the live auction items are two round trip economy class West Jet tickets that can be used anywhere West Jet flies.

Tee off will be at 12:00pm on tournament day. To register as a golfer it is $55 for Prescott Golf Club members and $95 for non-members. To register visit here or pay the Prescott Golf Course directly. To be a sponsor visit maternalgolf.com as well.

The founders thank the community for how impressive the tournament has come together.
