Northern Cables will be expanding their Prescott location with a new approximately 16,200 square foot building. It will join their two buildings on 236 Wood Street and 799 Susan Street. The expansion will cost around $2million and President Todd Stafford says they will be using Richard Steele Construction to build it.
Shelley Bacon is the Chief executive Officer of Northern Cables and says the expansion will create a bigger manufacturing area. He also says these locations are predominantly making all the conductors that go into the manufacture of their unfinished cables.
Stafford adds their existing plant is full and there’s a need for more capacity in Prescott.
Stafford notes they are looking to hire 12 people in Prescott and probably 12 more in Brockville over a couple of years.
