The Leeds Grenville-based charity 100 Women Who Care – 1000 Islands Chapter is hoping to hit a new membership high at its third event next Tuesday, January 12, at the Brockville Country Club. This first fundraiser of 2016 for area women wanting to make a difference in their communities follows successful meetings last year in June and September.
The first session raised more than $7,000 for local women’s shelter Leeds & Grenville Interval House. The second garnered $9,200 for the Brockville and Area Food Bank, Operation Harvest Sharing.
