County Road 43 is now open at Bolton Road following a fire that started around 12:00pm today at a commercial garage and attached residence.
The fire was advanced before a passerby noticed the flames and called 9-1-1. The North Grenville Fire Service, Merrickville Fire Department and Edwardsburgh-Cardinal Fire Department responded. Firefighters found heavy flames through the roof upon arrival.
No one was home at the time of the fire and no injuries have been reported. The building and all contents are a total loss.Â
Fire Chief John Okum says the fire appears to be accidental in nature. North Grenville fire officials have reported the incident to the Office of the Fire Marshal and the Ministry of Environment & Climate Change. An investigation will be conducted by the North Grenville fire service.
