Knights of Columbus hosts Special Olympics Flag Relay in Prescott

On January 16th the Special Olympics Flag will be in Prescott at St. Mark’s Parish Centre. This is part of a province-wide effort supported by the Knights of Columbus. This is one way for the Knights to show support for Special Olympics and the athletes within our communities. The Prescott event,  which is open to the public, will include a chili lunch for $5 per person. All proceeds from the event will be forwarded to the Ontario Special Olympics organization.

Special guests are expected to make an appearance, including local and provincial dignitaries and the Brockville and Area Special Olympics basketball team. The primary objective of Special Olympics Ontario is to contribute to the physical, social and psychological development of people with intellectual disabilities through positive, successful experiences in sport. The Ontario flag relay will wrap up at the Opening Ceremonies of the Provincial Special Olympics Championships in Durham Region in June.
