The Spencerville Mill is Still Looking for Vintage Toys

The Spencerville Mill & Museum is looking for more vintage toys for their “Toys of Yesteryear” exhibit. The show will feature toys from 1930 to 1990. This will be the first show of its kind for the Mill.

Sheila Fawcett is a board member with the Spencerville Mill Foundation and is looking after the show.  She says there are some fascinating toys that have come through already.

The vintage toys they are still looking for include: toy soldiers, Star Wars themed toys, windup toys, a peddle car, rocking horse and a Rubik’s cube.

Fawcett says you can be sure the toys will be secure and hands off unless the exhibit is given permission to put a toy out for people to play with. She adds these will be toys that aren’t the glitzy, digital things kids have these days.

If you have a vintage toy you would like to put in the show, Sheila Fawcett will be at the Mill on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week from 9:30am to 1:00pm. If those times don’t work to drop off your toy, you can contact her at 613-658-5290.

The Spencerville Mill & Museum will be hosting the show from July 3rd to the 15th from 10am to 4pm, seven days a week.  Admission is $2.
