Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement saying that temperatures will reach the high twenties with the humidity making it feel as hot as 38 degrees. The organisation says that while everyone is at risk, older adults, infants, young children, and people with chronic illnesses are particularly affected by this type of weather.
Environment Canada says you should drink plenty of cool liquids, keep cool by dressing for the weather, and you should spend a few hours in a cool place throughout the day.
Environment Canada says a cold front will move through the area later today bringing cooler temperatures.
