The OPP has laid an impaired driving charge against a tractor trailer driver.
Officers with the Grenville and Leeds Detachments of the OPP say they were called out at 10:00 last night about a collision involving the transport and a stationary construction sign truck on Highway 401 in Augusta Township.
Police report the driver took off from the scene leaving a passenger’s side door behind.
Officers found the transport and driver at the westbound Mallorytown Service Centre. Police say after further investigation the 31-year-old man was charged with Dangerous Driving Causing Bodily Harm, Failing to Stop at a Collision, and Impaired Driving after a test showed he had double the legal limit of alcohol in his system.
The occupant in the sign truck suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the incident.
Police continue to investigate.
