Gananoque donates $10,000 to BGH redevelopment project

The Brockville General Hospital Foundation got a boost from the Town of Gananoque. The town donated $10,000 towards the hospital’s redevelopment project on June 6. Mayor Erika Demchuk toured the hospital’s model room at the 1000 Islands Mall. The grant dollars were committed last year. Foundation Executive Director Joan Simon says the town has supported the hospital for years.

The total cost of the project is $173 million. The foundation needs to raise $20 million of that. Simon says its a huge undertaking.

The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville has committed $2.1 million, the City of Brockville is giving $4.7 million and the Town of Prescott is contributing $30,000 to the project. For more information, click here.
