Music at the Mill kicks off this month

Showcasing local musicians is what Music at the Mill is all about. The series of concerts at the Spencerville Mill & Museum starts on June 21 and runs until October 11. There will be a wide variety of music including cappella, new country, soul, and retro rock.

The June 21 line-up includes the Village Voyces Chamber Choir, the Malala Women’s Choir and Bella Borealis. They are joined by The Valley Men, an all-male choir noted for many years of touring in rural communities throughout eastern Canada.

Fiddlehead Soup will be performing in July, followed by River City Junction in August. In September, the mill will be a stop on Ontario’s Festival of Small Halls tour. October brings the Riverthieves, an eastern Ontario Indie-folk band.

The Summer Solstice event starts at 5:00pm with the grand opening of heritage store Barnard’s Emporium. Free coffee will be served.

All concerts start at 7:30pm. Doors open at 6:30pm for refreshments and socializing. Tickets range from $12 to $25 and are available at the door or by clicking here.
