A $30,000 donation from Prescott to the Brockville General Hospital Foundation has been approved by Council.
The money is going toward the hospital’s Phase II Redevelopment Project and all of the councillors voted in favour of the donation except for Teresa Jansman. Councillor Jansman also voted no during the Committee of the Whole discussion about the donation, saying she doesn’t think the province is doing enough.
Mayor Brett Todd says he is very happy to support the project but is a little disappointed they’re not committing for a longer term. He added that he thinks this is a good first step.
The move by council also approved the suggestion that council revisit the topic in 2019, with a chance for more funding.
