Benefit concert to improve sanitation for school in Kenya

Students and staff at North Grenville District High School are getting ready for the annual Sarah’s HOPE Benefit Concert. The 12th annual fundraising event is set for this Thursday in the school’s cafeteria. Doors open at 6:30pm and musical performances kick off at 7:00pm. Music teacher Stephen Henderson says the students have been working hard.

Tickets are $10 each or $25 for a family. People can pick up tickets at the school or buy them at the door. All money raised will go to the Gatwe Primary School near Embu, Kenya. Sarah’s HOPE has funded new classrooms for the school. Henderson says Sarah’s HOPE is now working on other infrastructure projects at the school.

The money from the concert will also go towards building a new kitchen. For more details about the concert, check out the Sarah’s HOPE Facebook page.
