VIA Rail have announced it will be doing maintenance in Brockville.
VIA say it will be de-stressing rails to prevent buckling during the summer heat by cutting rails while removing and re-installing rail anchors amongst other things. The work will take place in three phases.
The first will cover a segment starting at the crossing on Concession Road 7, leading towards Centennial Road. The second phase covers track that starts at Centennial Road and goes near the Home Depot. Finally VIA will be working on rail near the Home Depot that finish at the crossing on Central Avenue West.
Work is due to begin in early May and be completed by the end of the month. VIA warns the timeline could change due to weather or equipment performance.
