A Private Members Bill from MPP Steve Clark is receiving support across the province.
The Ontario Chamber of Commerce have decided to formally support Bill 2, also known as the Cutting Red Tape for Motor Vehicles Act. Clark calls the support unexpected. The bill I meant to simplify the car registration process for dealers and customers.
The bill is also being backed by the Trillium Automotive Dealers Association, a group of over 1,000 new car dealers in Ontario. TADA’s Frank Notte says Quebec has allowed dealers to register vehicles since 2002 and other provinces allow it as well. Clark says this bill was locally sourced.
TADA says the bill received all party support during second reading debate in December of 2016. Clark says if anyone wants to put their support behind Bill 2 there are petitions in his office and online.
