Prescott Town Council has Formally Approved a Number of Committee Suggestions

This week Prescott Town Council approved a number of Committee of the Whole suggestions.

Katie Allard has been approved for the Emergency Management Information Officer position. The BIA also has a new Board of Management member; Karen Martin was appointed to the position after putting her name forward at the last BIA meeting. Both women were selected with unanimous support.

Council also formally approved Mayor Brett Todd and Councillor Fraser Laschinger joining the Prescott-Ogdensburg Bicycle and Pedestrian Ferry working group. Mayor Todd says things are moving well so far.

Councillor Laschinger pointed out during the meeting that they are still in the early stages of this project, with a focus on determining feasibility. Councillor Lee McConnell is behind the ferry, suggesting that if it ran every two hours people could spend some time on the other side or the border and maybe help the local economies of both Prescott and Ogdensburg.

Councillor Laschinger finished up by saying he thinks this proposal will be a positive one.
