The Fort Town Night Run Is Still Looking For Volunteers

The Fort Town Night Run is looking for some helping hands.

Volunteer Coordinator Julie Larose says they’ll be holding a Volunteer Training Session on Saturday. She says they’ll be going over safety protocol and giving out a few of the volunteer positions. Most of the volunteers will be standing at street crossing to direct runners and keep everyone safe but according to Larose there are other jobs as well.

She says they’ll be feeding volunteers the night of the run and that there may be some small presents given out to thank them for all their hard work. Larose says students that need volunteer hours can get some through them.

Larose stresses this is an event for the entire community, with games for children of all ages taking place on the fort’s grounds before the run, as well as food and live music. They are also asking residents that live along the course to decorate their homes for the runners.

Anyone interested in volunteering can come to the training session at St. Lawrence Academy in Prescott at 9:00am on Saturday, or fill a form out on the event’s website.
