South Grenville Chamber of Commerce Celebrating 125 Years Serving the Community

The community is being invited to celebrate a milestone for one of the area’s longest running institutions.

Deron Johnston, a member of the group organizing the South Grenville Chamber of Commerce’s 125th Anniversary Party, says there will be a few things going on but it is all very informal. According to Johnston the South Grenville Historic Society is putting on a walking tour at 4:30pm before the party itself starts at the Prescott Legion.

Johnston says the Red George is providing appetizers and there will be a cash bar. There will also be a time capsule assembled at the anniversary, which will be buried at the new fire hall and opened in 25 years. Johnston says they are looking for mementos from the public.

On top of putting on the walking tours Johnston says the South Grenville Historical Society is going to be setting up a display at the event. He finished by praising the work of the entire team but singled out Bonnie Cougler, Chamber President, for having the idea to celebrate the anniversary.

The 125th Anniversary will be celebrated on April 24th and Johnston says you can register online here or by emailing [email protected]. He adds that tickets may also be available at the door but it is first come first serve.
