French Catholic School to operate out of Kemptville College

Kemptville College has its first new tenant. A new K to 9 French Catholic School will begin operating at the campus in September of 2016. Grades 10 to 12 will be added in subsequent years. The school board is also considering adding an early childhood centre on campus so that all levels of French level education will be accommodated in Kemptville.

The announcement came from the Municipality of North Grenville Wednesday afternoon. The new school is an extension of Sainte-Marguerite-Bourgeoys , which has served local families in Merrickville for twenty years.

Mayor Gordon said this is the first of many exciting announcements the Municipality hopes to make in coming weeks and months.

Director of Education Rejean Sirois says the project is more than just a school. It is a community project that will revitalize the campus and contribute to the local economy. Sirois adds he is looking forward to a partnership with the community in fighting climate change and developing agriculture.
