Steve Clark Supports Habitat for Humanity at Queen’s Park

MPP Steve Clark is working to make homeownership a reality for more families in the area.

The provincial representative for Leeds-Grenville says he has tabled an Order Paper question on the issue at Queen’s Park after meeting with Habitat for Humanity Thousand Islands. The provincial branch of Habitat for Humanity is asking the government for $25 million over four years so they can build around 500 homes and Clark is backing the request.

According to Clark addressing affordable housing in the province means bringing municipalities, builders, landlords and housing advocates together so they can create a comprehensive plan. He adds that Habitat for Humanity is an important part of the solution because they have a track record of doing and not just talking.

Pam Little, board chair with Habitat for Humanity Thousand Islands, says investing in affordable housing improves quality of life, while improving social economic and health outcomes in communities.
