St. Mark’s Kindergarten Classes Help Ottawa Dog Rescue

Little hands are proving they can do big things.

Yesterday Co-founder of the Ottawa Dog Rescue Sue Cianci was at St. Mark’s Catholic School to receive a cheque from the school’s kindergarten classes. Students, and their parents, cooked cupcakes for the SPCA’s annual cupcake day fundraiser and when the totals were collected they had raised over $500.

Teacher Sue Scott says her students started an animal hospital in their class, which led to them visiting the Prescott Animal Hospital. There the students saw a fundraiser for the cupcake fundraiser. Scott says they had talked doing things for others earlier in the year and the kids thought this was a good idea.

The funds are being split between the SPCA and Ottawa Dog Rescue.
