Dr. Jacqueline Schoemaker-Holmes has announced she will be leaving the Town of Prescott for a career in academia.
After becoming Prescott’s first ever Economic Development Officer in June of last year Schoemaker-Holmes has revealed she will be returning to what she calls her first, true professional love. Schoemaker-Holmes says she has been privileged and honoured to work as the first Economic Development Officer in town and wants to thank everyone who championed the position while supporting, encouraging and collaborating with her. She stressed that she loved working with the community and local business owners, adding she looks forward to crossing paths again in the future.
Schoemaker-Holmes finished by calling Prescott a resourceful, resilient and enthusiastic Town that she is proud to call her hometown. Her new position is Program Developer at St. Lawrence College.
