Prescott Town Council has accepted the Committee of the Whole’s recommendations on how to best move forward concerning the Water Tower.
The Council has now given formal approval for staff to address any high risk safety or health issues found in the water tower during 2018, funding for this will come from the water reserves. After that staff will work with engineers to plan for a replacement within the next five years. Site reviews, preliminary designs and determining what changes must be made to the existing infrastructure are just some of the expected steps.
As a last suggestion town staff will be looking for any available funding or grant opportunities that would ease the amount of debt the town would need to occur between this and other large projects over the next five years.
