Residents are mourning the loss of Former Mayor Robert Lawn.
The Town of Prescott issued a statement about Lawn’s death on its Facebook Page earlier this week.
Lawn was Prescott’s Mayor from 2000 to 2006. He passed away on Saturday at Wellington House, after suffering from Lewy Body Dementia for several years, according to the town’s release.
Lawn was also a popular teacher at South Grenville District High School. He was head of the history department, then Vice-Principal and eventually Principal. Lawn retired in 1991.

Lawn is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sandra, his three daughters and sons-in-law, and eight grandchildren.
The funeral is set to take place at St. Mark’s Roman Catholic Church at 11:00am today with a reception to follow.
