Boomers had a full house throughout the night on Saturday. They were serving a spaghetti dinner for ten dollars a person. The event was a fundraiser for local figure skater Matthew Markell and they collected close to $6,000.
Markell is the Canadian National Junior Men’s Figure Skating Champion. Boomers wanted to help him raise money so he can continue advancing in the sport. Markell and his family were in attendance and were very happy to see the big turnout.
Markell says knowing that Prescott is behind him gives him confidence in himself and his skating. He’s hoping to get some international experience and represent Canada all across the world in the future.
