MPP Clark asks Wynne government not to impose new car tax

In Queen’s Park yesterday, Deputy Leader of the Opposition MPP Steve Clark asked the Wynne government to confirm Ontarians will not have to pay a new car tax.

He said he’s alarmed the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing wouldn’t rule out that he’s considering giving all municipalities the authority to collect a Vehicle Registration Tax. At the moment, Toronto is the only Ontario municipality with the authority to levy the unpopular car tax.
