Ultramar customers affected by fuel mix-up asked to contact local station

UPDATE: Ultramar Spokesperson Pierre Tessier confirmed the incident actually took place on Tuesday, January 16th. The original release and story stated the incident happened on Thursday, January 18th.

Ultramar Prescott is reaching out to customers that may have been affected by a fuel mix-up.

Spokesperson for Ultramar, Pierre Tessier, says that on the evening of January 16th there was an incident at the station in Prescott where diesel was put into the regular fuel tank instead of gasoline. Tessier says as soon as the local station was made aware of the situation, the site was shut down. The tank was drained, cleaned and refilled with gasoline.

Tessier says the company is inviting customers affected by the situation to go to the gas station and give them all the necessary information that is needed. Ultramar says it will compensate customers for the damage caused by the situation.

Tessier says that any further questions can also be directed to the Ultramar Customer Satisfaction Center at 1-800-363-6949.

Ultramar says it regrets any inconvenience it has caused customers in the incident.
