Leeds Grenville United Way Campaign extended to end of 2015

The Leeds and Grenville United Way campaign announced Monday they are expecting to be a bit short on their million-dollar goal, by about $225,000. The campaign was scheduled to end December 4, but the unexpected shortfall has forced the local organization to extend fundraising efforts through to the end of 2015.

Executive Director Melissa Hillier says one of the main reasons they are falling short is that the Hockey Night in Leeds Grenville event put on by MP Gord Brown, didn’t happen this year. It usually brought in over $130,000.

The United Way supports over twenty local member agencies in Leeds Grenville.
