After recent fatal and serious injury house fires in Nova Scotia and Ontario, Augusta Fire Rescue is being proactive.

Augusta Township Fire Chief Rob Bowman is reminding residents that it’s important to have working smoke alarms on every floor and outside sleeping areas.

Bowman says you should pre-plan how to get out of the home before disaster has a chance to strike.
