Business owners in Leeds and Grenville may want to check out a handbook released by the Ontario Chamber of Commerce.
The short document contains resources to help guide business owners through the changes created by Bill 148. The Fair Workplaces, Better Jobs Act is changing the way businesses operate and the OCC wants to be sure employers are aware of risks associated with the changes. Bill 148 will make a number of changes to businesses but the most notable is a minimum wage increase to $15 by January 2019.
In the handbook the OCC highlights the four main issues small businesses are expected to face. These include; profitability, staffing levels, competition and taxation. Possible solutions are also provided. A link to the handbook, and webinar, can be found here.
