Preventative suggestion from the Town of Prescott

As the region deals with extreme cold the Town of Prescott has a preventative suggestion for residents.

Anyone living in a building that has bleeder lines installed on their water service line is reminded to turn the bleeder valve to the open position. The town also suggests that residents living in homes without bleeder lines leave a tap running overnight. The stream of water from the faucet doesn’t need to be bigger around than a pencil but this will help prevent pipes from freezing. These preventative measures are ongoing and should be given serious consideration when the temperature falls to around 15 below or less.

Anyone having problems with their water lines can call Town Hall at 613-925-2812. Town Hall adds they will be returning to regular hours today after a week of holiday scheduling.
