The OPP say they are being kept busy by the festive RIDE campaign.
As part of the annual initiative between December 1st and December 12th officers with the Grenville County OPP have set up 25 check points in South Grenville. Officers are reminding the public that while they will be checking for impaired drivers, they also may ask to see a driver’s license and vehicle information. Not carrying the required documents for your vehicle is a chargeable offence under the Highway Traffic Act.
The OPP add their RIDE check points can also occasionally come across other criminal activity. A woman is facing drug trafficking charges after trying to pass through one of the RIDE checkpoints with cocaine and three kilograms of marijuana.
