United Counties of Leeds and Grenville receiving federal funding

The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville will be one of 71 municipalities receiving funding from a joint initiative.

On Tuesday the Honorable Amarjeet Sohi, Minister of Infrastructure and Communities, and President of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities Jenny Gerbasi announced the projects would be funded from the Municipalities for Climate Innovation Program, the Municipal Asset Management Program and the Green Municipal Fund.

The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville will receive $50,000 from the Municipal Asset Management Plan for the county Asset Management Revitalization.

According to the government communities want to invest their infrastructure money  into projects that can adapt to the potential effects of climate change. Just over $5.3 million will be spend on 72 projects, across the country.
