The Leo is officially the most important item on the 2018 Capital Needs Project Budget.
At this week’s council meeting the mayor and councillors voted 6-1 in favour of making the Leo Boivin Community Centre their top capital needs project next year. Mayor Brett Todd made it clear that this move does not indicate that the town has decided on renovation or constructing a new building. They want to be sure they explore all possible scenarios before a final decision is made.
Council has directed town staff to bring a report back, outlining any issues they can find with the community centre. It was also noted that in case of an emergency, like sewage or water, the town will still have the option of redirecting funds.
