Town of Prescott 2018 budget details

The Town of Prescott is working meticulously to make sure the 2018 budget comes out balanced.

At council this week Treasurer Mathew Armstrong went through a PowerPoint presentation that highlighted how an increase in the minimum wage would need to be compensated for in the budget. According to Armstrong’s presentation there will be an impact of almost $40,000.

Armstrong went so far as to provide a breakdown of how much of an increase there would be per job compared to last year. For example, hiring Marina Students will cost the town almost $6,000 more than it did last year, simply because of the increase in minimum wage. The biggest part of the increase is coming from Pool Students and Supervisors.
