Prescott will continue using Brockville’s fire dispatch services moving forward.
During a meeting this week Town Council voted to enter continue an agreement that would see calls for fire services routed to Brockville. There were three options presented and Prescott Fire, along with three other fire service departments in the area, was most comfortable with third. Treasurer Mathew Armstrong pointed out that the move will save the town around $8,000.
The move does not eliminate the Prescott fire department, it means that emergency fire calls will be handled in Brockville and then passed along to the appropriate local department. The chart below shows all three contract options put forward.
