Two Prescott businesses up for business award

Two Prescott businesses have been nominated for the Ben TeKamp Memorial Award.

The Luxe Boutique Collective and Olde Magick Owner Sherry Spring were both nominated by members of the community. The award is intended to honour entrepreneurs who opened new businesses, or reinvented an old idea to meet the region’s changing needs.

The Luxe Boutique Collective is a group of local artisans who, with the help of Luxe Boutique Owner Leslie Bottogoni, came together to create a one stop shopping experience in downtown Prescott. The collective is located in a 200-year-old house on Edward Street where crafters, chefs, wood workers and artists rent space to display their products for purchase.

Bottogoni says there are over 40 local entrepreneurs selling their goods inside what is also a fully operational salon and spa. She was also quick to add the collective as a whole was responsible for the success they had experienced and sincerely thanked the many community members that had nominated Luxe Boutique.

Also located in downtown Prescott Olde Magick was officially opened in July and has already become an active part of the community. Owner Sherry Spring preferred not to be interviewed but said she appreciated being recognised and thanked the community for the support she had received so far.

The award will be presented at a ceremony tomorrow night.
