Augusta Business Award Recipients

Augusta Township has given out their annual business awards.

Local chip truck Bud the Spud Chip Wagon was named the 2017 Augusta Township Business of the year. Bud the Spud opens in the spring and remains open until late October. Owner Bernie La Chance prides himself on quick, friendly service coupled with a variety of crowd favorites. This year the wagon expanded and upgraded their seating for better customer comfort.

The 2nd Annual Trailblazer Award was presented to Stewart and April Pratt, the owners of Augusta Farms on Kyle Road. The couple started with livestock and has since expanded to fresh local produce, eggs, preserves and pickles. They also support 55 families through their Community Supported Agriculture Baskets. Demand for their produce has grown so much they recently built a commercial-sized greenhouse.

Both awards were presented at the Augusta Township Economic Development and Tourism Committee Business of the Year Breakfast. Head of the committee, Deputy Mayor Bill Buckner, helped hand out the certificates.
