The Leo Boivin Community Centre will remain open for the rest of the season.
In a press release the Town of Prescott revealed the second air quality test has come back with safe levels of mould. This air test was the last step in a Ministry of Labour mandated cleanup intended to make the arena safe to use for the remainder of the ice-making season.
The community centre can now stay open without staff or users worrying about becoming ill, but this is a temporary solution. The arena’s long-term future will remain unknown, until a decision is made about removing the source of the mould.
