The results are back on the air quality test at the Leo Boivin Community Centre and the news is optimistic.
After a 15 day closure the Leo will be reopening to the public. According to a press release from town hall the 10 day decontamination campaign brought the air quality back to a safe level. There are however two conditions connected to the reopening. First the town will use HEPA filters to scrub the air for another week in both the lobby and dressing rooms. After the seven days of air scrubbing is finished, the town will also be running another air quality test.
In a press release, Town Hall says it was cautiously optimistic that the next air quality test would show the same, or lower, levels of mould. If the air quality test comes back with unacceptable levels of mould, the town may be forced to close the arena for the remainder of the season.
The town stresses their top priority is the health, safety and well-being of community centre staff and users. They also thank all those affected for their patience and understanding.
